Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by my little blog. Its purpose isn't so much to show off my work, it is more of a way for me to catalog the things I've created. I hope you enjoy peeking at my projects while you are here!

Baby Card

Hello there! This is my spring break and I'm so excited! The students needed a break and so did I. I love spring break because it means I get to spend all day with my son AND when he naps...it's crafting time!

My husband and I have some long time friends who are having a sweet baby girl in just a few weeks. I wanted to make a card to go along with the precious little burp cloths and bibs we are sending them.

Ok. Before I share my project, I must take a second to rave about these burp cloths. I don't have a picture now, but I'll take a few and post them another time. These precious little burp cloths are made by Ruthie over at SeptemberNinth. Yes, that's right - she does more than paper people! She made us a set when we had our son and oh my goodness! They are the best I have ever used, store bought or handmade. They stay on your shoulder so nicely and are so comfy for baby! They are so handy! They are tried and true...my son had reflux so there was plenty of spit up to go around. If you have a baby, or you are getting a gift for someone who is...I strongly suggest that you contact Ruthie and ask her to make you some. She will match your colors and has reasonable pricing.

Alright, back to my project. Here is a shot of the card.

The backing for the card is made from Recollections cardstock in kraft. I made it 9.25 x 4. The cute patterned paper is Baby Girl from Heidi Grace. The dark brown cardstock is also from Recollections and the darker pink on this card is DCWV. The light pink is just from my stash.

The baby carriage is cut from the Simply Charmed cart at 3 inches. The face is from the Peachy Keen Princess Face Assortment set. Isn't it cute?! I added a little bling and did some doodling with my white gel pen.

The words are also from the Simply Charmed cart using the word function, but they actually go with the pacifier cut on the cart and not the carriage. I'm not a huge fan of the face in the o and the e, and would have taken them out, except this is a borrowed cart, so I couldn't do it with my gypsy.

I finished the inside with some layered pink and white cardstock. I think it turned out so cute! I hope they like it!

I hope to have a few more things up before the week is through. Thanks for stopping in!

:) Cynthia
